There are many different courses of English to choose from. We have prepared an overview of the English courses in which you may be interested.
1. General English
Each level takes between 10-15 weeks. Classes usually start on any Monday throughout the Academic year. The course is structured in 1-6 levels: Beginners, Elementary, Pre-elementary, Intermediate, Upper-Intermediate, Advanced.
2. IELTS (International English Language Testing System)
It tests your English knowledge in the four skills - listening, reading, writing, speaking. If you want to study at University or migrate to Australia, you will need to undertake the IELTS course. Students usually need to have at least intermediate level of English to be able to undertake IELTS course. However, it can vary on each English college. 3. Business English
This course is designed for students who want to progress in work environment or do further study. The development of spoken and written business communications such as Meetings, Presentations, Formal letters, Emails, Reports and other topics including Marketing, Finance, Management and more. Students usually should have intermediate level of English to be able to undertake Business course. However, it can vary on each English college.
4. English for Academic Purposes (EAP)
This course teaches students to write essays in English, how to prepare a good presentation with appropriate English business grammar and give recommendations how to be successful in your further academic study. Students can gain direct entry to some Australian universities and colleges after successful completing EAP course. Students don't pass or fail. Students get a score. There are specific entry requirements for writing and reading parts. It may vary on each English college. Important! Before signing in the EAP course, it is important to check the Direct Pathway Agreements with Universities and colleges. If your selected University or college, has an agreement with the English college, you will need to finish the EAP course in the required level. Then, you will be not be asked for doing any English test and you should be enrolled at the University or college without it.
5. The Cambridge Certificates
The First Certificate in English (FCE) It is an Upper-Intermediate level exam. FCE is the right course for students who need to be able to communicate confidently in English in most situations.
The Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) The CAE course enables students to develop their skills in Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking futher. Students will be more confident in daily situations within Australian community as well as succeeding in academic environment.
The Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) It is designed for students with extremely high level of skills in English.
All above Cambridge Certificates consist of 5 parts: Reading, Writing, Use English of (Grammar), Listening, Speaking. The FCE, CAE and CPE certifications are internationally recognised by organisations and employers.
