Student Visa Application Fee ($710) for students wanting to study in Australia; valid from 01/07/2023

As of 01/07/2023, the Australian Home Affairs has announced a Student Visa Application increase from AUD $650 to AUD $710 for a primary holder. Please have a look at the summary below:

Additional Application Fee Charge an Applicant of 18 years + ; AUD $530
Additional Application Fee Charge for an Applicant of 18 years Under: AUD $175
If any primary holder/secondary holder is / are currently in Australia and has/have held a visa, a Subsequent Surcharge Application Fee may apply. It's AUD $700 per applicant.

Student visa fee waiver ($630) for offshore student visa holders apply between 19/01/2022 to 19/03/2022

Today 19/01/2022, The Australian Government has announced an incentive for Student visa holders to return to Australia as soon as possible to help address current workforce shortages caused by COVID-19.

Any Student visa holder who is currently OFFSHORE and travels to Australia between 19 January and 19 March 2022, will be eligible for a refund of their visa application charge. Students will be able to apply for a refund up until 31 December 2022. Details of how to apply for a refund will be available shortly on the Department of Home Affairs website.

Student visa application fees

Student visa application fee (Subclass 500) is $630 for a primary applicant from 1st of July 2021.

Some other fees may occur:

For an additional applicant who is 18 years and it is included within the same student visa application, there is an additional applicant charge $470.
For an additional application who is under 18 years old, then the fee is $155.
If your current visa has been lodged within Australia, there is an additional fee - it's subsequent temporary application charge of $700. This fee applies for every applicant within a student visa application.

- Diners Club International — 1.99%
- JCB — 1.40%
- Mastercard* — 1.40%
- PayPal — 1.01%
- Union Pay — 1.90%
- Visa* — 1.40%
- * The surcharge will also apply to Debit Visa cards and Debit Mastercards when making payments.
