Hello from Study Online Australia,
Today I am going to write about student visa conditions for the primary visa holder. If you are issued a student visa, some conditions will be attached to the grant of the visa. The most common conditions are: 8105 - You cannot work more than 40 hours per fortnight (a fortnight means any period of 14 days commencing on a Monday and ending at the end of the second following Sunday) when your course is in session. There is no work limits during recognised periods of vacation offered by your education provider. You can undertake work upon commencing your course in Australia. However if you have a subclass 574 visa, you have no work limits applying once you have commenced your Masters by research or Doctorate course in Australia. 8202 - You must remain enrolled in a registered course and you must maintain satisfactory attendance in your course and course progress for each study period as required by your education provider. 8501 - You must maintain approved Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) while your stay in Australia. 8516 - You must continue to satisfy the requirements for grant of your student visa. This means, for example, that your main course of study must continue to be a course in the education sector that matches your student visa, and that you must continue to have sufficient financial capacity to support your study and stay in Australia. If you are thinking about changing your course of study, you need to ensure that you continue to meet all the conditions that apply to your student visa. 8517 - You must maintain adequate schooling arrangements for your school-age dependants who joined you in Australia on a student dependent visa for more than 3 months. 8532 - If you haven’t turned 18 you must maintain adequate arrangements for your accommodation, support and general welfare for the duration of your stay in Australia. You must not change those arrangements without the written approval of your education provider. 8533 - You must notify your education provider of your residential address in Australia and any subsequent changes of address within 7 days. Also, you must notify your education provider of a change or education provider within 7 days of receiving the electronic Confirmation of Enrolment certificate or evidence of enrolment. 8534 and 8535 - applies only to students from specific subclasses and assessment levels 3 and 4. All above information was sourced by the Immigration website. Please find more detailed info on https://www.immi.gov.au/students/visa-conditions-students.htm . Last week I spoke about finding the right English college. Today I would like to share my experience with you how to find the right Vocational college. Some info can be similar to what I wrote last week but some of them can vary. So read carefully:-) 1. Choose the city Before coming to Australia, it is good to do a little bit of search about main cities and states in Australia. Check out climate, population, transportation, work & accommodation options, etc. The majority of international students come to Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Cairns, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Noosa, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. 2. Study in the city or close to the beach? Once you know at which city you would like to study, then you can start thinking if you like to study in the city or close to the beach. There is never a bad choice. You just need to consider your accommodation & work distance from the school. For example, if you choose to live in the city, then it is practical to find a college in the city too. You can also save money on public transport and if you lucky enough to find work in the city it is double saving for you! At the end, you can really save a quite enormous amount on transportation fees as well as save time travelling by public transport. On the other hand, if you choose to study close to the beach, there is usually more relaxed lifestyle and a wider range of outdoor areas. 3. Entry Requirements Entry requirements vary between institutions.
In most cases there are no entrance exams for VET institutions. However, some courses may have specific pre-requisite subjects or work experience requirements. 4. this is my first blog contribution! I am so excited to write about my experience studying, working and living in Australia. My name is Pavla and I arrived to Australia in April 2007. I was born in the Czech Republic. I have been working in the international industry since my arrival to Australia. I started working as an Educational Planner in one of Sydney’s agency and after 2,5 years I decided to work for 2 Educational Providers in Sydney. It gave me a great insight from all sides - being an international student, working as an Educational Planner in the agency and as well as working on Educational provider side. So I had the best experience which I could have imagined. Then I fell pregnant and I stayed with my kids at home. I was not sure what I will do with my career but after careful consideration, I realised that I love helping and passing my personal experience to other international students whose intentions are to study in Australia. This was the right impulse to start my own company, Study Online Australia. I wanted to have a student agency which will be available for students 24/7 and it will provide free service. From my own experience, I know that sometimes you need to speak with your agency over the weekends, late evenings or during public holidays. So therefore, Study Online Australia is open for you all the time. You can connect with us from anywhere you are. We aim to respond to student inquiry within 24 hours. I have been very fortunate to work with students from Estonia, Taiwan, Slovakia, The Netherlands, Spain, UK, The Czech Republic, Romania, Sweden, France and many other countries. We do not limit to any country. So feel free to come forward with any inquiries you may have. Lastly, I would like to mention our company motto. It is "Devoted to Students". We are here to find solutions to your needs so please let us discover your true potential. |
