- you course(s) have been deferred due to compassionate & compelling reasons, travel limitations, Covid-19, etc.
What would you like to do?
1. You want to change courses It depends if you plan of changing your education provider or not. Also it depends if you have completed at least 6 months of your main course.

- or arrange to travel out of Australia within 28 days of finishing your study.

You can apply for an absence for compassionate or compelling reasons with your education provider. If it's approved, your education provider will enter your information in a immigration online system so Immigration is informed about the approval.
You can remain in Australia or travel overseas if you have deferred your course for compassionate and compelling reasons and still remain enrolled. When you course is deferred, your course is out of session and you can work unlimited hours. Please refer to student visa conditions.

2. Your Education provider default occurs
This can happen when a registered education provider in Australia closes or can't deliver your course(s) because they have been sanctioned.
If this happens, you should have been notified in writing by our education provider. They will cancel your Confirmation of Enrolment(s) which are connected to your student visa. This can happen either before you start studying or while you're already studying. There are different helps such as refunds or a placement in an alternative course provided by your education provider. Immigration recognises that this is beyond your control and they will give you the opportunity to study with a different education provider. Remember that you nee to maintain your course enrolment as it's a condition of your visa. For further details please contact one of our qualified student visa & education specialist.
